Ferrovial, via its US construction subsidiary Webber, has been awarded a contract to build a section of SH 114 over US 377 and the Union Pacific Railroad in Roanoke, Texas (United States). The Texas Department of Transportation has selected Ferrovial’s division to carry out the project, valued at around $32 million (some €27 million).
Spanning 1.08 miles, the project includes dirt work, subgrade and concrete paving, as well as bridge work consisting of concrete and steel girders. The scope of work involves construction of over 19,000 square yards of concrete pavement, more than 340,000 square feet of bridge deck, about 30,000 linear feet of concrete girders and construction of about 5.18 million pounds of structural steel. The project is scheduled to begin in August 2021, with completion scheduled for September 2022.
Webber is currently working on 46 projects in Texas and Georgia. This U.S. subsidiary of Ferrovial recently announced it had been awarded a $1.5 billion contract to widen I-35 in San Antonio. Webber was also selected for the reconstruction of a section of I-35 in San Marcos, Texas, for $81 million and the renovation and reconstruction of I-37 in Corpus Christi, Texas, for $84 million.
