Ferrovial, Cadagua, FCC and PSA to build the 6,400 million-peseta sewage plant at Arroyo Culebro in Madrid The temporary consortium formed by Ferrovial-Cadagua and FCC-PSA will be commissioned the project and execution of the works on the Sewage Processing Plant in the Upper Middle Basin of Arroyo Culebro, in the Fuenlabrada sector of Madrid. The project budget is 6,393 million pesetas it has a 48-month construction deadline and the works include execution of the collectors and operation of the plant during the functional trial stage. The plant, with a capacity of 129,600 m³/water per day, has a high technological component, which includes physical and chemical preliminary processing, two stage biological processing and tertiary processing. The project also includes recovery of electric energy from biogas obtained from digestion of the sludge. Energy recovery Cadagua has important references that include this procedure, such as the South Sewage Plant and that at Butarque, both in Madrid; the Sewage Plant in Villapérez, in Asturias; at Lorca, in Murcia; at Quart-Benager, in Valencia; at Arazuri, in Navarre. Cadagua has introduced spearhead technology in these, through its agreement with Stewart Scott from South Africa, applying a state- of- the- art nutrient renewal technology for urban sewage. This system allows Cadagua to generate 11 Mw from biogas overall, at the plants it operates in Spain.
