Ferrovial will participate in the coming edition of the
Barcelona Start-up Week, with a challenge aimed at entrepreneurs, within the field of
occupational health and safety.
Health and safety is considered a key factor by the company for achieving operational excellence, and we therefore work towards creating risk-free work environments for all, including users of infrastructures and services. Two principles govern the company’s approach:
Target Zero and
every accident is avoidable.
The Ferrovial Health & Safety challenge
The company has therefore set up the
Ferrovial Health & Safety challenge, aimed at
generating ideas for improving occupational health and safety. Regarding safety, the onus is on measures to
prevent and reduce accidents within our different fields of business, for both workers and those affected by our activities (contractors, users, etc.). In the field of health, we are looking for measures or initiatives aimed at
improving staff health.
How to become involved
Any organisations wishing to participate should send their proposals via this
link before 24.00hrs on Thursday, 14 September 2017.
Barcelona Start-up Week
Ferrovial, as one of the sponsors of the
Barcelona Start-up Week, will participate in the
Grand Opening Session on Monday, 18 September, where
Alberto López-Oleaga, Ferrovial Process and Innovation Director, will present the Ferrovial Health & Safety challenge.
Shortlisted start-ups will be invited to make their
elevator pitch at the event which will take place on Tuesday, 19 September, from 13:00 to 14:00 hours.
The jury, comprised by
Valentín Alfaya, Director for Health & Safety, Quality and the Environment, and his team, as well as staff from the Innovation Department, will then select the winning idea and/or start-up of the Ferrovial Health & Safety challenge.
The winning start-up will have the chance to carry out a pilot project with Ferrovial.
