The Spanish Federation of Food Banks (FESBAL) has presented Ferrovial with this award for its collaboration with and support for the 54 Food Banks across Spain, which distribute food to more than 7,000 charities and 1,560,000 beneficiaries.
Through its Social Action program in Spain, which has been in operation since 2012, Ferrovial has contributed to ensuring access to food for 62,353 people in 22 provinces of the Spanish territory. Specifically, Ferrovial has collaborated with FESBAL in improving the infrastructure of 16 food banks throughout Spain.
During 2021, restoration of seven food warehouses is being carried out in Almería, Ávila, Ceuta, Jaén, Murcia-Segura, Seville, and Vizcaya, which will allow increasing the capacity for food preservation and its distribution under optimal operating conditions.
During the award ceremony, which took place at the FESBAL headquarters, Miguel Fernández, director of the Spanish Federation of Food Banks, presented the award to Ignacio Madridejos, CEO of Ferrovial, who thanked him for the recognition.
