Ferrovial Services has been re-appointed to clean the stations on Madrid Metro lines 1 and 7. The four-year contract is worth over €24 million. Services include cleaning 51 stations: 24 on line 1 and 27 on line 7. The contract also includes technical cleaning in the electricity substations and technical rooms throughout the Madrid Metro network. The company currently performs close to 5,500 cleaning operations each year. It also cleans suspended ceilings and lights throughout the Madrid Metro network. Contract objectives include providing value-added solutions to the client, optimising its resources and maximally leveraging all possibilities based on our experience and using new technologies. A new feature of the contract is that the entire service will be managed using the Cleantec application. The application provides total transparency to the client and the company with information, notification and immediate supervision of work, assuring internal control of service quality. The service is being delivered in accordance with the environmental commitment, as over 70% of the vehicles are zero-emissions and the cleaning products are eco-labelled. Ferrovial Services contributes to satisfying both Madrid Metro and its users by offering a quality cleaning service coupled with greater scope and efficiency in execution, enhancing the image of the stations on both lines.
