Ferrovial Services extends its contract for on-board services with Renfe on both the high-speed (AVE) and long-distance trains

Ferrovial Services contract, which has been extended for a further two years after an initial four-year period, will continue the management of the two areas covered by the contract: Lot I, which includes the Northeast, Mediterranean, International and Transverse routes, and Lot II, covering the North, South and East of mainland Spain. The contract with Renfe was awarded in 2013 for a four-year period and a value of over 266 million euros, with the option of a two-year extension for a further 133 million Euros. Ferrovial Services has served over 145 million passengers in the first four years of the contract.

Service Provision

The contract covers the provision of on-board customer services, catering, transport logistics and supply on Renfe’s high-speed and long-distance trains, both within Spain and on international routes to Marseille, Lyon, Toulouse and Paris. Ferrovial Services greets passengers on boarding the train and when leaving, and provides newspapers, headsets and a public address system. It is also responsible for on-board logistics and catering, including a cafeteria service. This extension, which began on 1st December, further strengthens the company’s presence in the rail sector.
