The municipality covers an area of 100.08 square kilometres, with a population of 8,948 people (2011 data). The company expect to collect about 2,300 tons of solid waste per year in the area.
Two new garden maintenance contracts
Ferrovial Serviços’s contract with Odivelas City Council for green area maintenance was extended for another year, with the possibility of two additional years. The company has been working in this city for 10 years, providing the following services: garden construction and maintenance, waste cleaning and removal, watering system maintenance, pruning of trees and bushes, forest and scrub clearing, hedge pruning, and maintenance of lawns, meadows, trees, paved and unpaved roads and other structures.In addition to this contract, the city council of Lagos, in Algarve, extended the green area maintenance contract in the new area of the city for six months, strengthening Ferrovial Services' presence in southern Portugal.
