Grupo Ferrovial will manage the supply of water to Ponferrada, in León, until 2022 Grupo Ferrovial through its subsidiary Ferrovial Servicios (Ferroser)- will operate the integrated water supply and sewer system service in Ponferrada, León. The concession will last 25 years, serving a population of 60,000 inhabitants, and the annual volume of managed water will be more than 4 million cubic meters. The Group will advance Pta 1 billion to the Ponferrada Town Council as a fixed royalty for the concession and it will make an annual royalty payment of Pta 10 per cubic meter billed. In addition, it will invest more than Pta 400 million in service facilities, specifically, in the optimization of the performance of the supply network of Ponferrada and in water quality control. The offer had to compete with those of other companies in the sector, such as Aquagest-Interagua, Seragua-Martínez Núñez-Grupo Duero, Sogesur and Urbaser. Grupo Ferrovial operates in all the segments of the water market through Cadagua and Ferrovial Servicios. At present, it holds integrated water management concessions in 27 Spanish towns, serving a population in excess of 600,000 inhabitants, with a treated and supplied water volume of more than 60 million cubic meters per year.
