Heathrow Airport sets a new six month passenger and cargo record

London-Heathrow Airport sets a new record 6.68 million passengers travelled through the airport on 40,626 flights in June, 1.1% more than June 2014. Making it the busiest June on record both for passengers and aircraft movements. Regarding half-year results (from January to June 2015) Heathrow Airport recorded more than 35 million passengers, 1.3% more than the same period of 2014.
  • Amounting to 233,395 flight movements, 0.4% more which operated until June of last year.
  • Withing emerging markets, passengers volumes were particularly strong to Mexico which was up 23.6%, China up 15.2% and Turkey up 3.4%.
  • Cargo volumes recorded growth of 4.3% respect to the preceding 12-month period.
  • The main markets were Europe, with a total of 14.7 million passengers, an increase of 2.4% , followed by North America, with more than 8 million passengers and an increase of 1.4 %.
