Taking into account the Easter timing change from 2013, underlying growth was 1.9%.
- Seats per aircraft increased 1.3% to 205.6, whilst load factors increased 4 percentage points to 78.3%. Passengers per aircraft increased 6.7% to 161.

Within the emerging markets, China was up 12.5%, Mexico was up 15.9%, and India was up 9.2%.
- Cargo was up 4.4% overall, increasing 26.8% to China, 25.1% to Mexico and 15.8% to Russia.

April also saw Heathrow achieve a record Q1 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) passenger satisfaction score of 4.06, beating its previous best performance of 3.99 in Q1 2013.
- The proportion of passengers rating their overall experience with Heathrow as either ‘Excellent’ or ‘Very Good’ also increased to a record 80%
