I-77 Mobility Partners announced May 31 it is donating $50,000 to support Discovery Place Education Studio, which provides ongoing professional development for pre K-12 educators in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

I-77 Mobility Partners is committed to the advancement of STEM education,” said Javier Tamargo, CEO of I-77 Mobility Partners. “We are proud to support Discovery Place Education Studio, which is a leader in helping educators in our region inspire and prepare students for STEM learning and future careers.”

“Discovery Place is grateful that I-77 Mobility Partners understands the importance of investing in our educators in order to prepare our students for the STEM jobs of the future,” said Catherine Wilson Horne, president & CEO, Discovery Place. “With this support, we will be able to train more teachers to bring advanced technologies and problem-solving skills into their classrooms.”

As a supporter, I-77 Mobility Partners also will participate in various Discovery Place programs, such as providing opportunities for learning and advancement to local teachers and school administrators. Educators will bring these new skills and proficiencies back to their classrooms for the benefit of students throughout the Carolinas.
