- ZITY’s 650 electric cars will continue to be recharged with Iberdrola’s green energy, which comes from 100% renewable resources
- Furthermore, its sustainable fleet has incorporated Iberdrola’s brand image
Iberdrola and ZITY have expanded their partnership to promote sustainable mobility. The new agreement between the two companies will allow Iberdrola to continue to supply 100% renewable energy for recharging ZITY’s whole fleet of electric vehicles, which will also bear the company’s brand image inside of the cars.
Since December 2017, ZITY’s fleet, which currently consists of 650 electric vehicles, uses Iberdrola’s green energy to recharge. That energy source is certified to come from 100% renewable resources.
This new agreement, framed by both companies’ commitment to sustainable mobility, expands their partnership with a sponsorship agreement: the ZITY fleet already features Iberdrola’s brand image on the cars’ front seats, as well as on the safety description on the dashboards. Iberdrola will also continue working on commercial initiatives to promote ZITY’s service among its customers and employees.
"The agreement underlines our commitment to continuing to work with each other and with everyone involved in the sustainable mobility of the future, with the goal of raising awareness among consumers about electric transportation and getting them to join in the fight to reduce traffic in cities and improve their environmental quality,"
Both companies remark.
ZITY – which serves the entire metropolitan area of Madrid and localities such as Alcobendas, Pozuelo de Alarcón, San Sebastián de los Reyes, and Coslada – is working to offer its users a quality service in order to continue to grow and advance sustainable mobility even more.
As for Iberdrola, the company is working on a Sustainable Mobility Plan, which includes opening 25,000 charging stations for electric vehicles across Spain by 2021. This initiative is geared toward homes, businesses, and urban and intercity public access zones. This plan includes installing fast, super-fast, and ultra-fast fast recharging stations along the country’s main highways and corridors during 2019, reaching the capitals of every province and enabling cross-country travel in Spain.
