Grupo de personas frente al MIT acuerdo Ferrovial

Ferrovial Agroman, through the Department of R&D and its subsidiary Ditecpesa, has started a new research project with MIT (the Massachusetts Institute of Technology). This project is focused on the nano and micro structure of asphalt pavements, a field in which there is not much prior knowledge.

The research will be carried out by the MIT and its Laboratory of Materials Under Extreme Conditions of the Department of Civil and Environment Engineering in collaboration with the Ditecpesa team.

The main objective of the project is to generate the necessary knowledge to achieve asphalt pavements of greater durability in order to optimize their exploitation, maintaining the operational values ,such as superficial regularity and coefficients of friction, for longer periods. The achievement of this objective will suppose a clear competitive advantage for the company, reducing its operating costs.

In this context, the company decided to include this new line of research within the framework of its agreement with Boston’s Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an agreement, which is in force since 2011 and which has been renewed for a further five years, to support research projects aimed at developing the infrastructures of the future.

According to the QS World University Rankings 2018, MIT is the best university and research center in the world.
