A group of women during the Juntos Sumamos programme by Ferrovial
Ferrovial has been running its social programme Juntos Sumamos (Stronger Together) since 2005, to support projects funded by donations from both the company and employees and implemented by private not-for-profit organisations that are legally established and registered in Spain. In the current edition, donor employees for the programme have voted to assign the amount collected to fully fund the initiatives of the CODESPA Foundation and Menudos Corazones. The remaining amount will be used to partially fund the Ojos del Mundo (Eyes of the World) project and the Ángel Tomás Solidarity Initiative.

Projects to be funded

Development Projects

  • Most voted was the “Programme for integrated support to women and youth suffering from sexual violence in the armed conflict areas of Goma and North Kivu", to be implemented by the CODESPA Foundation in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
  • "A future free from shadows: preventing blindness in children” by the Ojos del Mundo Foundation in Mali.

Social Action Projects in Spain

  • "Just like home: refurbishment of a building for accommodating families of children staying in hospital due to congenital heart disease, organ failure or multiorgan transplant" by the Menudos Corazones (Little Hearts) Foundation in Madrid.
  • "Upgrading of the 'Domingo Savio' catering training centre for young people at risk of social exclusion" by the Ángel Tomás solidarity initiative in Valencia.

12 years committed to improving the living conditions of vulnerable people

The Juntos Sumamos programme, established in 2005, is based on a shared commitment by Ferrovial and its employees to improve the living conditions of people at risk of social vulnerability. The programme funds NGOs working in international development projects, social projects in Spain, and projects for the conservation of natural capital and biodiversity. The programme budget is made up of payroll giving by Ferrovial employees, plus an amount donated by the company to match employee funds, in effect doubling the value of employee donations.
