DOW Chemical Company, are a recognition to companies that obtained the best results in matters of safety, quality and reliability in the execution of works realized, which are strategic values for the company.
This recognition places a value on the objectives set by Siemsa, which include the highest levels of safety and health at work, participation in the process of continuous improvement of the service and the coexistence of
DOW and
Siemsa staff to ensure that the client retains expertise of their facilities. At the same time, the company will continue to maintain its standards of flexibility, service and commitment, and will ensure the current availability of the DOW complex.
This action reaffirms the importance of the integration, collaboration and joint work of Dow and the 60 companies that work daily on the Tarragona Site, a group of more than 650 people who access the Dow facilities to provide different auxiliary services.
Dow Chemical Company is a multinational chemical corporation with a presence in 175 countries. Its main activity is the production of chemical reagents, manufacturing among other things gelatinous gasoline and thin-film photovoltaic plates.
Analyser maintenance service for optimisation of the production process
Siemsa was recently awarded the analyser maintenance service at the
DOW Industrial Complex in Tarragona, for the seventh consecutive time.
The Industrial Complex consists of two sites: the Cracker and Octenol Plant, attached to the
Repsol Oil Refinery in the municipality of Pobla de Mafumet and the Maritime Terminal and Derivatives plants, located in the Vilaseca municipal district. Both sites are connected to each other by a pipe rack, about 15 km.
In the Cracker Plants, the raw materials for Ethylene, Propylene and 1-Octene are produced. In the Derivatives Plants, these raw materials are transformed into by-products such as high and low-density polyethylene, polyethylene grade "Primacor" or Polyols.
The DOW Industrial Complex in Tarragona is the largest facility in Spain and one of the largest in Europe.
Through this contract, Siemsa will carry out the comprehensive maintenance service for DOW analysers, both under normal operating conditions and in special emergency situations, shutdowns and start-ups. In this way, the company will carry out all the necessary work related to the analysis systems so that all equipment and systems meet the design specifications and are in perfect working conditions, and therefore allow DOW to optimise its production process.
