Additionally, the podcast ‘Sounds Like Infrastructure’ has been recognized as one of the best audio series with an Honorable Mention.
Best video International Women in Engineering Day 2020
The seventh International Women in Engineering Day was observed on June 23, 2020. Ferrovial advanced in this regard by inviting 10 of its professionals working in four different countries to underscore the essential part that women play in the engineering industry. It wasn’t easy to make a long-distance video during the global pandemic, but this diverse cast managed to highlight the vital role of women engineers.
One of the biggest challenges was making the video remotely. The long distances between the countries had to be overcome, as did the different time zones and the challenge of bringing people together despite a global pandemic. To this end, the Ferrovial team contacted colleagues around the world to identify these professionals. They then interviewed the engineers to create the script for the video and blog posts. Those chosen received guidelines on how to shoot their clip remotely.
The video reached more than 93,000 people through Ferrovial’s social media profiles. It was viewed more than 24,000 times, and the blog posts were read by more than 1,500 people. A Twitter account on civil engineering noticed the video and shared it with its over 45,000 followers.
Honorable mention in the podcast category
‘Sounds Like Infrastructure’ has been recognized with an Honorable Mention in the podcast category. From floating buildings like CaixaForum in Madrid to using explosives in the construction of tunnels, this podcast, created by Ferrovial’s Digital Communications team, emerged as a sort of anchor during the COVID-19 pandemic. It has grown to become a benchmark in sharing information about the industry.
