item reuse platform on web and app platform
Ferrovial Services , together with the Madrid City Council, has launched >Revive San Blas , a free web and mobile platform to exchange used items in good condition with the aim of promoting their reuse. A digital solution that will run for three months at the San Blas recycling centre, it seeks to promote and implement an item reuse culture and increase awareness and citizen participation. The Revive solution contributes to meeting European Directives on recycling and reuse of waste by 2020 and has been successfully implemented in various cities internationally.

How to participate in Revive San Blas

To participate in the program you have to login to the platform . Once users have registered and created a profile, interested users can add the items they want to exchange, including a description and a photograph, which are added to an item catalogue. The approval of items is subject to the delivery of the item to the recycling centre as well as the centre manager's evaluation, who will study their reuse. If the user wants an item, they can reserve it through the web and later pick it up in a maximum of three days. The list of items to be exchanged focuses mainly on three areas: sports and leisure (board games, books, films, music, and sports equipment), children and babies (toys, strollers, and car seats) and home (furniture, household goods, DIY, and gardening). Users receive 100 points when registering on the platform and another 100 points each time they deposit an item at the recycling centre. These points will be redeemable for new items on the platform, subtracting 50 points for each item reused. The San Blas recycling centre - which has an average of 3,000 visits per month - is located at Calle de San Romualdo, 20, and is open Monday - Friday, 3 pm - 8 pm, Saturdays 8 am - 8 pm and Sundays and public holidays from 9 am - 2 pm.
