Unique architectural features planned for the SH 114 bridge construction project in Irving, North Texas County, Texas.
Webber selected for SH 114 bridge construction project in Texas
The Texas Department of Transportation
has chosen Webber, LLC,
to construct the SH 114 Signature Bridge
in Irving, Texas. The project was bid at $39 million
and will be managed by Dallas Area Manager Jim Rogers and Senior Project Manager Rob Weber.
The bridge construction project consists of five bridges
that will combine to appear as one structure. Although it’s shown in three sections, the bridge will consist of on and off “ramps”
in-between the bridge for cars to gain access from SH 114. The top of the bridge will have two areas for pedestrians,
covered by canopies made of aluminum with translucent fiberglass panels.
These canopies will have seating areas and planters for decorative vegetation. In addition, a large steel truss
will be hung above the bridge, supported by pylons with cables
that will connect it to the canopies and the top of the pylons.
“The SH 114 Signature Bridge in Dallas County is an exciting and innovative project that will challenge our team to build a new structure that will both inspire and improve the surrounding community ” said Tim Creson, President & CEO of Webber.
