Broadspectrum, the Australian affiliate of Ferrovial Services, has renewed its contract for perforation work with the mining company BHP-Billiton in Olympic Dam, Australia, for a further 12 months. The extension forms part of a three year agreement (with an option for two) reached with the company.

The agreement has been reached via Easternwell, an Australian affiliate of Broadspectrum that has been carrying out perforation work in Olympic Dam for more than 11 years and has shown excellent results in the area of occupational health and safety. The Olympic Dam mine is located 560 kilometres north of Adelaide and is one of the world’s largest deposits of copper, gold and uranium.

Andrew Chandler, General Manager of Easternwell, expressed his satisfaction with the renewal of the contract: “We hope to be able to continue carrying out quality perforation work in Olympic Dam for the next twelve months and in the long term.”
