The agreement has been reached via Easternwell, an Australian affiliate of Broadspectrum that has been carrying out perforation work in Olympic Dam for more than 11 years and has shown excellent results in the area of occupational health and safety. The Olympic Dam mine is located 560 kilometres north of Adelaide and is one of the world’s largest deposits of copper, gold and uranium.
Andrew Chandler, General Manager of Easternwell, expressed his satisfaction with the renewal of the contract: “We hope to be able to continue carrying out quality perforation work in Olympic Dam for the next twelve months and in the long term.”
Broadspectrum and BHP in Olympic Dam
Broadspectrum, the Australian affiliate of Ferrovial Servicios, renewed its contract with the BHP Billiton mining company for a period of five years. The agreement includes bulk material handling services in the Olympic Dam mine.
