Our Social Infrastructure program has been chosen as a finalist in the Business in the Community Corporate Responsibility Awards in the UK, in the “Unilever International Award” category.
The jury for these awards, which are the most influential and reputed in the UK in the area of Corporate Responsibility, highlighted the programme’s global nature and sound focus in terms of local investment in infrastructure.
Ferrovial’s Social Infrastructure programme seeks to palliate imbalances or lack of water and sewage infrastructure in vulnerable communities in rural and urban areas of Latin America and Africa. The company provides not only funding but also technical and technological assistance and expertise in infrastructure development.
To date, the company has developed water and sewage infrastructure in Ethiopia, Colombia, Peru, Tanzania and Haiti, benefiting more than 153,000 people.
It recently signed two new cooperation agreements with AMREF Flying Doctors Spain, Action Against Hunger Spain and ECODES to for water and sanitation infrastructure projects in Colombia, Tanzania and Peru.

Business in the Community (BITC) is a business-led not-for-profit organisation which promotes responsible business practices. It is the largest, and one of the oldest, coalitions of companies in the UK dedicated to corporate responsibility. BITC, founded in 1982, currently has more than 830 members.
