Ferrovial Agroman Values & Graduate Awards Ceremony

On Friday 29 November, the Ferrovial Agroman Values & Graduate Awards Ceremony announced its winners at the annual Christmas event.

The event is an opportunity to bring all members of the UK & Ireland organisation together to thank everyone for their commitment, hard work and to recognise colleagues and their achievements from throughout the year. This year, over 350 guests were welcomed to an evening of speeches, awards presentations, the end of year films, a raffle and a night of live music entertainment, delicious food and dancing until the early hours. Mario Mostoles addressed guests as he opened the speeches and awards ceremony:

“Health & safety has seen its best performance ever this year across all of our schemes as well as the Tideway tunnel boring machine, Millicent, completing her journey with no lost time reportable incidents, final completion of the M8, contract award and financial close of the Silvertown Tunnel project being among 2019’s big achievements. The latter representing 4-5 years of fascinating work ahead –an excellent result. We started the year with a little uncertainty, there have been some changes organizationally, but we are looking to a productive and successful 2020. I couldn’t be happier with the team we have delivering: never more diverse than now, never more committed.”

This year, there were some additional features of the awards. All employees were invited to nominate their colleagues for the categories which continued to be the Ferrovial Values (RESPECT, INNOVATION, COLLABORATION, INTEGRITY, EXCELLENCE) and Graduate awards (Best Graduate Newcomer, Graduate of the Year: Civil Engineering | Industry Professional | Business Operations).
Projects then submitted a shortlist based on these nominations. Finalists were invited to deliver a presentation to a panel of judges who would select the winner based on the criteria for each of the values and graduate categories. This year all participants were invited to be as creative as possible –a challenge which was most definitely taken -and they were able to bring in a sponsor into the session with judges also. Najima Khatun, Learning and Development Manager, Ferrovial Agroman:

“Being a judge for the values awards for the first time was a truly amazing experience and it was far more difficult than anticipated. All nominees had a great story to share and it was a real privilege to learn more about them, their personal lives and work. I could have listened to them for a longer period of time. They are all winners for doing such an amazing job and getting nominated.”

We would like to wish all nominees, finalists and winners massive congratulations for being shortlisted and for all of their efforts as each and every one of them embraced the process and the opportunity. It becomes increasingly difficult for the judges to decide on the winning candidate as quality was excellent across the board and level demonstrated was nothing less than outstanding. The 2019 Ferrovial Agroman Values Awards winners are:
