Cadagua awarded a new O&M contract in Asturias, Spain

The Consorcio de Aguas de Asturias (Water Board of Asturias public entity) has awarded to Cadagua the contract for the “Operation and Maintenance of the public drainage and sewage treatment works of river Caudal and Riosa- CAA/2020/131”. The duration of the contract is 3 years plus 2 possible extensions of 1 year each.

The drainage scheme of Caudal River comprises de WWTP of Baiña and a 57,59 kms. network of sewage collectors. The drainage basin includes the towns of Mieres, Lena y Aller. It also includes 16 pumping stations, 37 spillways y 7 service galleries.

The drainage scheme of Riosa includes Riosa WWTP and 1 pumping station.

Baiña WWTP averages a treatment capacity of 43.200 m3/day and presents an activated sludge biological treatment process with nitrification-denitrification and a sludge line with gravity and flotation thickening and press filters for dewatering.

Riosa WWTP treatment capacity reaches 1.625 m3/day.

This new project further positions Cadagua as a leader in the O&M of wastewater treatment facilities.
