Construction started in December 2015 on Stage 1 Works and is anticipated to take approximately 23 months to complete.
Key project milestones achieved to date include:
- The completion of early investigation work for Stage 1 Works
- Establishment of the project site compound on the north east corner of the intersection of Wakehurst Parkway and Warringah Road
- Opening of the permanent project community information centre at the site compound
- Establishment of traffic controls at the intersection of Wakehurst Parkway and Frenchs Forest Road
- Clearing and grubbing around the intersection of Wakehurst Parkway and Frenchs Forest Road
- Some of the environmental measures in place are the following: monitoring of sediment basin discharges and noise from out of hours works, and general weekly inspections
- Ecological monitoring of clearing activities for presence of Fauna and ongoing Ecological Investigations to support further clearing fronts
Upcoming Activities
- Stage 2 EIS approval and the accompanying Notice to Proceed (Stage 2) will represent a major Project Milestone allowing the commencement of preparation of the Stage 2 CEMP
- Site access to properties along Forest Way, Frenchs Forest Road and Wakehurst Parkway in Stage 1, and Warringah Road and the service station in Stage 2
- Commencement of water and sewer relocations in Stages 1 and 2
- Opening of Stage 1 work front in Naree Road and Forest Way) setting up of environmental and traffic controls prior to the start of site clearance and service relocations respectively
