These awards are the National AGC Safety Award and the 2020 Texas Bluebonnet Safety Award
Each year, Texas’s Association of General Contractors (AGC) and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) host the Conference on Executive Safety in Austin for TxDOT area and district engineers – that is, members of management teams in Heavy Civil divisions and safety directors, thus recognizing them for their excellence in safety in their respective divisions.
Webber’s Heavy Civil division was recognized with two AGC awards, according to the Total Recordable Incident Rate for 2019: the Texas Bluebonnet Award and the NASA Award. The criteria for these awards focus on injuries per work hour on general division projects.
The Texas Bluebonnet Award was created less than three years ago within the AGC’s joint task force safety committee, which is comprised of contractor safety professionals in civil engineering along with TxDOT safety teams. This is the third consecutive time that the Heavy Civil division at Webber has won this award based on the company’s incident rates and working hours.
Webber’s Heavy Civil team also won the 2019 AGC National Safety Award for the seventh consecutive year. This recognition highlights exemplary safety programs by both members of AGC’s Heavy Civil division and TxDOT districts throughout Texas.
“June is National Safety Month, and as a team, we are constantly renewing our commitment to preventing injuries and fostering a culture of safety around well-planned decision-making. Our priority continues to be ensuring the safety of our people, the community, and our teams. These awards are a reflection of Webber’s deep commitment to employees and our employees’ commitment to working safely every day”
Webber’s management team will receive the award on August 19, 2020, at the Palmer Events Center in Austin.
