Ferrovial Agroman awarded for safety and protection measures
The work team of the BP OIL Spain Refinery Center in Castellón has been recognized by BP OIL Spain for its performance in 2014 and 2015, regarding the development and adoption of safety and protection measures for people, in the running of installations and environmental protection. The award was accepted by Óscar Viñuela, Director of the Valencia Region, Balearic Islands and Murcia, on behalf of the project team. This team reports to Alejandro Villegas, Manager of Construction of the Valencia Region, and is formed by Jesús Luis Díaz Aused, Works Manager; Josefina García, Project Manager; Roberto Peinado and Lorenzo Domínguez, Maintenance and Engineering Site Managers; Daniel Gomar, Prevention Technician; and Fernando Martínez and Rafael Cabanes, Site Administrative Assistants. This award recognizes the implication and participation of all Ferrovial Agroman staff in BP, and shows the "efficiency of the Ferrovial Agroman Prevention System,", according to Óscar Viñuela. Ferrovial Agroman has been present in the BP Oil refinery of Castellón for over thirty years. It develops civil engineering maintenance work and all types of specialized work for the engineering department. Works include demolitions, foundations, structures to support new pipelines, burying of pipelines, structure reinforcement, electric substations and tanks, fencing, road signs, refurbishment of buildings and process units. As Alejandro Villegas said, "these awards are an important reward to the effort we have made in a company like BP, as in the Castellón Refinery, we are competing with international companies of great prestige". The most representative works currently being undertaken are repair works of structures in various process units, refurbishment of the office building, such as the complete modification of damp units and sanitation facilities of the office building. Other works include the replacement of false ceilings in corridors, the refurbishment of the emergency room in the management building, and the complete demolition of the boiler house structure in the energy unit. All these works have to be done without interfering in the operation of any process of the refinery. British Petroleum is one of the major energy companies in the world.
