Amey awarded extensions to two of its contracts in the utilities sector

Amey, the UK subsidiary of Ferrovial Services, has been awarded extensions to its power contracts with companies Western Power Distribution and National Grid. In relation to the former, Amey has a longstanding relationship with Western Power and will now cover four regions up to 2020. The company will continue to carry out construction, refurbishment and rebuilding services for power lines across the South West, South Wales, East Midlands and West Midlands. Amey has also extended its contract with National Grid to 2023 and will continue to provide building and design projects for power substations in England and Wales. Andy Milner, Amey Chief Executive, said:
"We are delighted to have been awarded these contract extensions, which underline our reputation in the power sector as a business dedicated to technical excellence and great customer service."
Amey has had over 20 years’ experience in the power sector. Ferrovial Services provides services to telecommunications, water, electricity and gas infrastructures, including the installation and maintenance of networks and power lines, maintenance of facilities, design, engineering and assembly, and emergency response. These services are carried out for clients such as Severn Trent Water and United Utilities in the UK, the National Broadband Network in Australia, and Chorus in New Zealand.
