Cintra joins the Ibex-35 index just eight months after its IPO

News

The Ibex-35 Advisory Committee decided today to include Cintra in the Spanish blue chip index effective 1 July. From that date, Cintra will join Ferrovial as one of Spain´s leading listed companies. Cintra´s inclusion was decided on the basis of trading volume and market capitalisation: an average of 1,888,816 shares have changed hands each day in the last six months, and capitalisation totals 4.429 billion euro. Cintra was trading at 9.02 euro per share today, 9.5% higher than its IPO price. Since the company´s free float is between 30% and 40%, Cintra is included in the index with a 60% weighting. "Cintra´s inclusion in the Ibex-35 reflects investor interest in the company," said Juan Béjar, CEO of Cintra. In recent months, we have made considerable efforts to explain our strategy and we continue working to achieve new concessions in the toll road and car park markets. Inclusion in the Ibex-35 may provide greater visibility to our activities, which we hope will continue to arouse interest among investors and the larger financial community."
