Ferrovial Agroman, through subsidiary Webber, has been awarded a contract to upgrade a 10-kilometer section of IH 35, in New Braunfels (Texas), for 63,8 million dollars, equivalent to 56 million euro.
The contract covers upgrading not only the interstate highway itself but also the on-ramps, and the construction of two overpasses. The work will begin in September this year and is expected to be completed in the autumn of 2021.
Webber, a leading general contractor in Texas, has become firmly established in in the Central Texas region with multiple large projects won in San Antonio and Austin in the past year. Also on IH 35, the company is widening a 10.3-kilometer stretch in Waco to four lanes each way and upgrading another 3.7 km in Austin. The company is also widening IH 10 in Houston and FM 156 in Forth Worth. Ferrovial Agroman and Webber recently commenced construction of an 85-kilometer stretch of the Grand Parkway, Houston’s third outer ring beltway, to the northeast of the city.
