Ferrovial has been awarded in the "Communicating Integrated Thinking" category for its 2016 Annual Report at the 2017 Finance for the Future Awards. Cristina Moral, Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility, and Laura López, Chief of Management Control, have collected the award on behalf of Ferrovial at the awards ceremony which took place in London.
The purpose of these awards, sponsored by the Prince's Accounting for Sustainability Project, by the Institute of Charter Accountants in England & Wales and sponsored by Deloitte, aims to inspire financial leaders to foster change towards resilient business models and a sustainable economy.
Specifically, the "Communicating Integrated Thinking Award" category recognizes organizations that are clearly demonstrating through their communication to their financial capital providers how sustainability in the broadest sense is integrated into their overall strategy and decision-making process and how this 'integrated thinking' contributes to a sustainable business model that offers long-term value.
In order to achieve this award, Ernesto López-Mozo, Chief Financial Officer, explains how Ferrovial has fulfilled the requirements demanded by the jury to obtain this award. These include transparency in communicating how an organization is managed and integrated thinking within it; the role played by the financial function in the process of incorporation and communication of integrated thinking, as well as the means and methods to inform stakeholders about all environmental or social issues or risk management, among others.
Together with Ferrovial, the finalists in this category were the British, Anglian Water and British Land, the Polish Orange Polska and the Dutch Philips Lighting.
This award is a recognition to the entire organization and to each of the departments involved in the preparation of the Integrated Annual Report. The Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs and the Directorate of Communication and RC are grateful for the efforts and cooperation of all those involved in the preparation of the report for improvement each year and for providing to the stakeholders each and every one of the functions carried out by Ferrovial in a simple and complete way, through an "integrated thinking".
The Communicating Integrated Thinking Award is a prize for its effort and cooperation to improve every year to show the stakeholders each and every one of the functions carried out by Ferrovial in a simple and complete way through integrated thinking.
