Ferrovial in IBEX35’s Top 3 Most Sustainable Companies and Top 10 Worldwide on EcoAct’s Index
  • In addition to taking third place on the IBEX 35, the company has also risen to ninth place in the global ranking that looks at the CAC 40, DOW 30, FTSE 100, and IBEX 35 indices
  • The EcoAct index measures companies’ actions and leadership in terms of environmental sustainability, regardless of their geographical location

For yet another year, Ferrovial has held its place as one of the leading companies in sustainability. It has been ranked third among the leading climate companies on the IBEX 35, attaining a score of 84% in the ranking done by EcoAct Spain, an international consulting firm specializing in sustainability, for its Study on the State of Sustainability Reporting. This recognition underscores the high performance of the steps Ferrovial has taken in the fight against climate change and preserving the environment with its sustainability policies.

Moreover, Ferrovial has risen to ninth place in EcoAct’s global ranking, which looks at not only IBEX 35 companies but also the CAC 40, DOW 30, and FTSE 100 indices.

In its assessment of Ferrovial, EcoAct has highlighted the company’s 2020-2030 decarbonization strategy and the steps taken to face the challenges posed by climate change. The company’s efforts in sustainability-related measures are also noteworthy. These initiatives are in line with the recommendations made by the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures and the “resilience to new environmental conditions, both in developing activities and products, as well as in infrastructure.”

One of the steps that EcoAct emphasized in its analysis is the electric carsharing project to be carried out by Ferrovial Services and Zity, with Iberdrola participating in recharging the vehicles’ batteries with renewable energy.

One of the most sustainable companies

This year, Ferrovial was also recognized as 2020’s most sustainable company in the infrastructure sector by World Finance magazine, which specializes in coverage and analysis of the financial industry, international business, and the global economy.

Furthermore, Ferrovial was named a world leader in the construction and engineering sector last September by the prestigious Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI).
