Heathrow Airport Terminal 2
Heathrow has announced their financial results for the first quarter (Q1) of 2016, showing that the airport has made a great start to 2016.
A grand total of 16.8 million passengers traveled through Heathrow so far this year, up 2.6% on the first three months of last year thanks to a record Easter amongst other factors. The quality of passenger service is also on the rise, with a great ASQ score of 4.12 out of 5, maintaining Heathrow's status as Europe's hub of choice, ahead of Amsterdam and Gatwick. As well as this, 77% of the airport's workers say that Heathrow is a great place to work. This good performance is notable across Heathrow's operational areas . As well as offering a better service, Heathrow is also lowering costs and offering increased value to both passengers and airlines. The latest airline to transfer its operations from Gatwick to London was Garuda Indonesia Airlines. The high customer service standards were recognized at the Skytrax Awards as Heathrow Airport maintains its status as ‘Best airport in Western Europe’ for second year running along with the additional familiar titles: ‘Best Airport for Shopping’ for the quality of the airport’s shops, restaurants and terminals for seventh year in a row  and ‘World’s Best Airport Terminal’ for Terminal 5 for the fifth year in a row. Regarding the financial performance, revenue is up 3.2% to £642 million and EBITDA (revenue minus costs) is up 7.3% to £367 million reflecting how costs are being reduced and becoming more efficient.
