Juan Cobo, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Ferrovial, was awarded Best CISO of the Year at the 2019 ComputerWorld Awards, attended by more than 300 professionals and managers in the IT sector at Madrid’s Museo Lázaro Galdiano.
Cobo was recognized for valuing information security and knowing how to guide his organization in a world where the challenges of digital transformation are continually growing. Maria José Marzal, director of ComputerWorld, presented the award, and she highlighted Juan Cobo’s work transforming, integrating, and improving cybersecurity at Ferrovial
"A strategy based on a holistic vision that involves business areas and transcends the simply technological point of view, as it incorporates other facets such as legality and process management. This is a difficult task for the complex, heterogeneous, international business environment in which this Spanish multinational is developing,"
As for Cobo, he remarked,
"We believe in centralized security management."
After the award ceremony, Juan shared the award with Ferrovial’s Information Security team, who he considers to be the real winners of this award.
There were also other institutions awarded in different fields, including Prosegur, which also won an award for Security Innovation for a particular project called POPS (Plataforma Operativa de Prosegur Seguridad, or Prosegur Safety’s Operational Platform) that includes the design, development, and implementation of a platform that facilitates operations for all Prosegur field personnel and coordination with the Operational Management Centers by using the mobile channel as the preferred channel.
We congratulate Juan Cobo on the award he has received for his work spearheading Information Security at Ferrovial.
