The Juntos Sumamos (Stronger Together) programme, implementing the shared commitment of Ferrovial and its staff to improve the living conditions of socially vulnerable persons, has launched a new call for proposals for the year 2018.
The aim of the programme, which has to date invested 1.6 million Euros, is to provide support to projects carried out by private not-for-profit organisations which are legally established and registered in Spain, focusing on the following:
- Social projects in Spain, aimed at providing basic needs and support for social inclusion and facilitating employment to fight poverty and exclusion in Spain; in general, social support and/or educational projects aimed at enhancing people’s living conditions.
- International development cooperation, with projects implemented in developing countries to fight poverty and exclusion.
- Conservation of natural capital and biodiversity, with a tangible link to local communities in terms of improving their social, financial and/or cultural situation. Priority is assigned to projects focusing on sustainable use of forest, agricultural and eco-tourism resources.
The programme budget is made up of payroll given by Ferrovial employees, plus an amount donated by the Company to match employee donations, in effect doubling employee contributions.
‘Juntos Sumamos’ is based on the shared commitment of Ferrovial and its staff to improve the living conditions of vulnerable persons at risk of social exclusion and since its launch in 2005, the programme has already supported 32 projects.
