Project Developments
The Biodome or Life Centre in Granada’s Science Park is now officially opened. The Biodome is a large aquaterrarium covering 20,000 m3 and is the fifth expansion project in Granada’s Natural Science Museum carried out by Ferrovial Agroman. Elsewhere in Spain, Inacua, the brand used by Ferrovial Services for integral management of sports facilities has launched a new standard image for all of its centres.
In the USA, the construction of the American highway NTE 35W, the extension of the North Tarrant Express, has reached its half way point.
New contracts
In terms of new contracts, Ferrovial has entered into the electricity transmission business this month with the acquisition of Transchile. Looking at other acquisitions across the company, Ferrovial Services Ferrovial has acquired 100% of Biotran, a company that specialises in the integral management of pharmaceutical sector waste. Over in the USA, Ferrovial subsidiary Cadagua has been awarded a contract to improve the treatment plant in Corpus Christi, in the state of Texas.
In other news
In other company news, Ferrovial has been included for the fifteenth consecutive year in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI). Ferrovial is the only Spanish company in its industry to be included in the World and European indices. Over in the UK, the Scottish Ministry of Transport has published a video filmed with drones which shows the construction status of the highway M8 M73 M74 project.
