Ferrovial Agroman has been recognized at the 45th edition of the Annual Convention of the Association of General Contractors (AGC) – Puerto Rico Chapter, for its “Excellent programme and achievements in Health & Safety in 2017”. The award was presented on 25th August in Río Grande, Puerto Rico, by AGC president Stephen Spears.
The AGC aims to recognise construction companies excelling in health and safety performance. AGC assesses individual contractor commitment to excellent performance in the field of safety, management of occupational health, risk control and legislation compliance.
AGC – PR’s Safety Committee verifies evidence in respect of:
- Company commitment at management level
- Claims and sanctions by the PR OSHA
- Risk management (for 4 critical risks)
- Index of notifiable accidents
Ferrovial Agroman’s Index of Notifiable Injuries in Puerto Rico is 60% of the average in the US construction industry. This award will serve to boost Ferrovial Agroman’s efforts on its “Zero Accident” vision, which is implemented globally by the company.
About OSHA
PR OSHA (Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Administration) is part of Puerto Rico’s Department of Labor and Human Resources, with a state-wide jurisdiction covering Ferrovial Agroman’s main work sites. Its aim is to ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Act 16, promote and verify safe and healthy working conditions, and provide training, outreach, education and consulting services to local businesses.
