Budimex to build a tram depot in Olsztyn

Our Polish construction subsidiary, Budimex, has signed a contract with the Olsztyn city government to build a tram depot. The contract is worth over 17 million euro (72 million zlotys). The company will work with KZN Rail on this project.

As part of this project, Budimex will build the new depot’s various installations, including: the administrative building with repair shop and warehouse; a new shed for tram servicing and parking; a substation for the catenary power system; and a warehouse for track and catenary components.

The new depot will also have parking spaces for technical assistance vehicles and cars. Budimex will also build three new kilometres of tramway which including paving, installation of lighting and vigilance system, fencing and landscaping.

The company recently landed the contract to upgrade 10 kilometres of highway 747 and to build the Bojanowo-Rawicz bypass on Expressway S5 in Poland, between the cities of Poznań and Wrocław.
