Ferrovial Services has been picked as a finalist in the enerTIC Awards 2018, which reward innovation and technology for energy efficiency in the digital era.

Alongside Zity, the electric car-sharing service set up by Ferrovial Services and Renault, several of the company’s projects related to innovation and mobility are finalists. The winners will be chosen by an open online vote for which the deadline is 16 November. The Ferrovial Services projects that have reached the final are:

The winners of the enerTIC Awards 2018, decided by popular vote, will be announced on 12 December at the awards ceremony held at the Spanish government’s Secretariat of State for Digital Progress in Madrid. Created in 2013, the enerTIC awards recognize innovative technology projects by companies and organizations committed to energy efficiency and sustainability. Participation is up 58% this year, as a total of 116 projects were nominated to the Platform’s Committee of Experts. The finalists were selected on the basis of the degree of innovation involved, the usability of information and communications technology, and their impact on reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions, among other factors. All the finalists will appear in the VII Guía de Referencia Smart Energy: “Tecnología para la mejora de la Eficiencia Energética” which will be presented at the enerTIC Awards 2018 ceremony.

How to vote and support candidates

In order to vote, you must register on the enerTIC website; the process is very simple. It’s important to use a corporate e-mail address, as conventional generic mail domains are not accepted. Up to 10 votes per domain are allowed. The steps to register and vote are as follows:

  1. Register on the enerTIC website using a corporate e-mail address. Click here to go to the registration page.
  2. Once you are registered as a user, click on the link below to vote on the candidates. Click here to vote.

The deadline for voting is Friday 16 November at 23:59.

Previous years’ winners

Ferrovial Services’ focus on innovation was rewarded in the previous edition of these awards, for the development of HEFESTO, software for enhancing energy efficiency  in the company’s contracts. Other prize-winning projects in previous years included TuCiudapp, a channel for communication between citizens, city governments, local business and service concession companies; and Ferrovial Light for GLASS, which introduced the Google Glass wearable.
