This October has been another busy month at Ferrovial with new projects, a number of awards and other exciting developments and events across our business lines.

Project developments and new projects

The new Angostura toll plaza on Chile’s Pan-American Highway has now come into operation. The new toll plaza is part of an extension project which is being carried out by Ferrovial Agroman Chile to add a third lane between kilometres 51 and 58 of Route 5 South, on the Pan-American highway. Looking at new projects in Europe, this month Ferrovial has furthered its internationalisation strategy with the award of Highways D4 and R7 in Slovakia. Whilst over in Portugal, Ferrovial Serviços has been awarded the contract for the operation of the Lipor II controlled landfill in the city of Maia. In addition to this, Ferrovial's UK subsidiary Amey will join with Arup to deliver an innovative Smart Motorway project in New South Wales, which will be the first of this kind in the region

Awards and recognitions

This month Ferrovial has been featured in Thomson Reuters newly launched Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Index, which lists the world’s top 50 most diverse and innovative organizations. As well as this, Íñigo Meirás, Chief Executive Officer of Ferrovial, has been included in the ranking of the 100 Best-Performing CEOs in the World, as published by the prestigious Harvard Business Review magazine. Ferrovial will also be listed for a second year running in the STOXX Global ESG Leaders Index, a representation of leading companies in terms of environmental, social and governance criteria. It has been a great month for Ferrovial Airports too with Glasgow Airport triumphing at the Glasgow Business Awards, with a treble win.

In other news

This October the January-September financial results 2016 have taken place which has seen Ferrovial raise its net profit to 279 million euros in the first nine months of 2016, with the main assets continuing to perform well. In UK events, Sheffield Smart Lab held its Demo Day in Sheffield Hallam University which was attended by 50 stakeholders from the British ecosystem of urban innovation. Another exciting development this month has been the official launch of the Ferrovial App which you can now download for mobile phones and devices from Google Play and the App Store. The Ferrovial App brings users all the latest news, job vacancies and basic financial information, allowing you to easily share its contents.
