This month Ferrovial has inaugurated the LBJ express in Dallas, a new toll road with managed lanes. September also marked the inauguration of the newly extended east pier of Glasgow airport and the opening of the presentation period for the Juntos Sumamos programme.

In terms of contracts, Ferrovial’s Polish branch Budimex has been awarded the design and construction of the beltway in the city of Suwalki in northeast Poland. Ferrovial has also announced the sale of a stake in its Irish toll roads M4 and M3 to Dutch fund DIF for EUR 61 million. Also this September, as part of its commitment to innovation, Ferrovial Services has secured a license to operate drones in Spain.

In other company news, the Dow Jones Sustainability Index of the most sustainable companies (DJSI) has picked Ferrovial for the fourteenth consecutive year. Ferrovial has also been chosen as one of the top 15 most international companies according to specialist magazine Engineering News-Record (ENR). In addition to this, an update to the Health and Safety policy has been officially approved by the board.
